To restore the softness to Play-Doh compound, try adding water one drop at a time and working it in to moisten the Play-Doh compound. You can also try wrapping the Play-Doh compound in a damp paper towel, returning it to the container and replacing the cover. Let it sit overnight.
Urban legend has it that if you took all the Play-Doh Compound created since 1956 and put it through the Play-Doh Fun Factory playset, it would make a snake that would wrap around the world 300 times.

No matter how much play-doh you can possibly buy, there is no way from preventing kids from mixing the colors! Arrrgh! What was I thinking!!
Still a good deal and worth buying a bulk item. The colors are many and varied and you can't beat that play-doh smell, right?
This is perfect for a pass out treat for a child on their birthday. Both of my boys have taken this pack to their elementary classes on their birthday since treats are often not allowed. The kids in the class love receiving Play-Doh. The teachers love that it is not a sugary food. My boys love sharing with their friends. The price makes it reasonable enough to pass out.
I've compared these to those I could find at the Wal. Store and chose this product. At the store, I was constantly trying to find a good variety of colors and for mixed packs would only find sets of 4 or 8, usually of the same color family. This was a great mix and even better that I didn't have to leave my house for an extra trip. This has become a staple for having on hand as a last minute birthday or play date gift. At lightning deal prices, I was able to pick up a few.
How can you go wrong with a massive amount of play dough. Our play doh was fresh and soft. We had a large assortment of colors. Last year we got a pack and had all different colors, this time it seemed like a few colors were the same or very very close. Play doh is more expensive in the store. Sometime I make my own but actual play doh colors can’t be beat.
It does just come in a brown box. That seems to matter to some people so just letting you know. I took it out and made a large pyramid out of the cans. The cans are not the bigger size but they certainly aren’t the tiny or even the medium tiny ones if that makes sense. Fun buy.
I love the color assortment in this pack of Play Doh. 24 canisters come in this kit, varying shades of all of the primary colors. They come in a discreet box too, mine didn't even say Play Doh on it, so it was easy to hide from the kids until it was gift giving time. There are white and black colored dough included as well, which is something you don't see alot of with these variety packs. The containers are about 3 ounces of dough per canister, and the possibilities for creativeness are endless. My kids have played for hours with this set of dough, and they absolutely love it. This would be great for a classroom, youth group, childcare or playroom because there is enough doughs to go around. I am very happy I purchased this set! So are my daughters!
It is play-doh what else can I say. Great price, great colors, great for classroom use.
I sometimes make my own dough or buy the generic kind, but there is a difference. I am not generally brand loyal and if I could have bought generic cheaper I probably would have, but play-doh brand play dough does seem to last longer and have a nicer texture.
I personally like the texture of home-made best- the stove top kind, but it does not always work perfect (user error I am sure), and unless your willing to spend the time and effort to make multiple batches, you get one color at a time. Here is the recipe I use- 1 cup water, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, 1/2 cup salt, 1 tablespoon cream of tartar (don't leave it out), Food coloring, 1 cup flour (and a bit more for kneading). Combine water, oil, salt, cream of tartar, and food coloring in a saucepan and heat until warm. Remove from heat and add flour. Stir, then knead until smooth. Add flour if sticky. Store in plastic bag.
I like this pack best for the price, but we also can work on color identification and have fun getting creative with the colors. Will I make my own, yes. Will I buy this again, yes.
